THE COVER!

The magazine Tomo is using a photo of mine for the December issue. Its meant to look light and fluffy (it is after all the hotel issue) but carved into the soap is a rather vulgar use of the Spanish language. Take that censorship!

ZEFIRO

After being asked to propose a logo for a new commercial and teaching restaurant to be located in a wing of a sixteenth century convent, I came across an extraordinary collection of variations on the letter z from the same period. Instead of repeating or updating a single form, the proposal combines each distinct variation to create an extremely baroque, contemporary graphic that is rich in historical information. The resulting composition also affects a a breeze-like quality, alluding to the name of the new venture (Zefiro was the Greek god of the Western Wind). Finally, the dual typefaces echo the building's dual aesthetics: bold, contemporary gastronomy alongside well-preserved classical stonework.
The proposal was not accepted.
