MEMORY EXPERIMENT #1
The following project is an invention which enables one to investigate everyday thoughts and to operate on their ephemerality. A snapshot of analogue RAM. Readers are welcome and encouraged to test this invention for themselves. The process is simple: whenever you find a coin, write down whatever you were just thinking about, and place the paper and the coin in a small, dated envelope.
Stray coins provide a specific yet unpredictable time scale for sampling one’s thoughts, removing the contamination of expectation. A diary by dice. The project provides a venue for the vast realm of thinking that goes largely unremembered: that which is divorced from noteworthy events. The audience is given a sliver of the stage, allowing the ordinary to have a place in our spectacle society.
