DENT

end of the year enema: the provocative impromtu interior of higgins hall is dismantled.  drawings pulled down, models discarded, spatial appropriations undone.  each term is a tabula rasa for the next class to be taught the evils of the tabula rasa.  in reaction - and ultimately submission - to the enforced temporality of student work, the project was conceived to decay.  blunt poetics.  not on the time scale of the institution, but on the time scale of the student.  intentionally open-ended in form, DENT aims - as the name suggests - to register the impact of its surroundings as well as create its own impact: transforming a quotidian hallway into a dense and theatrical public space.
